Taught by a certified instructor, this class introduces students to recreational archery, terminology and safety, followed by hands-on practice out on the range. All equipment provided. Archery is offered seasonally.
The Kroc Center has partnered with the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) to offer the only AYSO soccer program based in the city of Grand Rapids! Offered both Spring and Fall seasons.
This league will operate under AYSO’s six distinctive philosophies: everyone plays, open registration (no try outs or cuts), balanced teams, positive coaching, good sportsmanship, and player development. AYSO has two, eight week sessions that meet in the Fall and Spring.

Co-Ed Volleyball League
Gather a team together and join us Tuesdays for a night of volleyball . This coed volleyball league guarantees all teams at least 6 games played during the regular season with the top two teams playing in the 7th week championship.
Two full court basketball games will happen at the same time to give more opportunities to players to play and compete during specific session times offered on Saturday and Sunday. Players who want to play basketball during these times will have to register for the session they want to play in. Up to 40 people are allowed to be in a session at once. This is free for members and day pass users.
The Kroc Center has partnered with the Godai Judo Club to teach students basic grappling and self-defense techniques, as well as the rules of competitive judo. Classes are led by a nationally-certified, fourth degree black belt judo instructor. Optional tournaments may be available through Godai Judo Club but are not included with this program fee.
Kids Rock Climbing
Participants will learn proper movements, techniques and terminology for climbing as well as learn climbing safety. Each week will include fun and interactive games like bouldering tag and “takeaway”, in this 6 week introductory class taught by the Kroc's climbing instructor.
Kroc Tot Sports
Toddlers will play fun, indoor games, exercise,
and learn a variety of basic athletic skills alongside children their own age. Comfortable clothes and shoes required.
Join us for a good ol’ fashioned game of sandlot baseball! Each day will include a short instructional clinic, followed by game play in a fun and safe environment. In addition to skill improvement, this program provides the opportunity for positive social interactions and new friendships. Please bring your own glove and water bottle. All other equipment provided.
Tae Kwon Do
The Kroc Center is proud to offer this martial arts program in partnership with the Tae Park Tae Kwon Do Organization. This class will be taught by a certified Tae Kwon Do Instructor and overseen by Junior Grand Master Robert Barss, a seventh degree Dan Black Belt. The option to purchase a uniform as well as more information on tournaments and belt testing will be discussed the first night of class.
Tumbling & Gymnastics
Kids are introduced to and learn the basics of these sports from qualified instructors. Proper movements, balance, coordination, and flexibility are core elements that will be taught throughout the classes. Participants will also be taught everything from balancing to handsprings and more. Multiple levels offered.
All are welcome to play this fun, low impact recreational game that is a variation of different racquet sports.
Join us in the gym for a fun game of volleyball. Modifications available.
Youth Basketball League
Youth will learn how to play organized basketball during a seven week season where everyone makes the team, gets to play, and is taught the fundamentals of basketball through positive coaching in a Christian environment. Participants will also learn good sportsmanship. All teams will be balanced for fair competition.
Youth Sports Clinics
Offered throughout the year in the sports Basketball, Baseball, Soccer and Volleyball, kids learn sports basics and improve their skills in this fun, Christian sport clinic series. New fundamentals are taught and demonstrated by our coaches each week. We promote inclusion, fair play, teamwork and fun! All experience levels are welcome, and all equipment is provided.
The Sports and Recreation department of the Kroc Center offers recreation programs and sports leagues for all ages and other sporting opportunities such as Judo, volleyball, soccer, archery, drop-in sports, and more! Our two-court gymnasium is equipped to host sports and programs such as basketball, dodgeball, and pickleball. Our outdoor campus is also equipped with two soccer fields, a softball diamond, a sand volleyball court, and outdoor basketball courts.
